Bob Sondgeroth from the RF Rotary club was here to share news about the annual Greenery Sale. 
Program
Mike Sprague introduced Jackie Inman, Rock Island Center Director of the USO Illinois.    Jackie spoke of some of their programs, such as Military Spousal Night, Suppers for military personnel whose family are not with them, Frank 'n Friday,  and many other support activities to support our  military personnel.   Jackie indicated their organization is primarily funded though donations. 
Announcements 
  • Veterans Day Program- Nov. 8 - Remember to invite a Veteran to Rotary -Or if you know a Veteran who is not able to attend, you could tell the club about that Veteran and take them a Poppy.
  • Tony Miller announced he will be relocating in January.  He will be the Labor Attorney for the US Marines at camp Pendleton. Tony serves as our Youth Exchange Officer and we will need to replace that position.   We are happy for Tony and his family yet he will be missed greatly.
  • New Member Day Program - TBD - ideas for a keynote speaker that day would be welcomed.
  • Try to get your programs to Carolyn well in advance so they can be placed in the newsletter.
  • Rotary Foundation Gala at Deer Valley on Nov 5 - go to District website to learn more.
