Ray Sharp & Pat Pettenger

At our meeting on Tuesday, September 15, we will be taking up a collection for the CGH Health Foundation.   Our Club will match the first $500.

On Tuesday, Kevin Heller will be giving the final update on the BBQ and announce the amount of money raised.

Again this year, we will be holding a special meeting with a special speaker for prospective new members of our Rotary Club.  Start thinking now who you could invite that might be interested in joining our Club.  The meeting date will be announced next week.

Don't forget, it is the big Fiesta Parade this Saturday in Downtown Sterling.  Bring the family and enjoy a really good time.

It was another great week end for football at SHS.  Congrats to Sterling Thornton and to his father who will be paying some really big fines this season.

1.  Please remember the Four-way Test when directing comments and questions to speakers and other members. a) Is it the truth? b) Is it fair to all concerned? c) Will it build good will and better friendships? d) Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

2.  Once you have your guest speaker lined up for the meeting program, please email Russ Siefken at russ@essex1.com so that it can be included in the eBulletin.  Also, please ask the speaker to stay as close as possible to the microphone when speaking.

3.  Please park at the YWCA or by Grummert's, not in a Sterling Federal Bank lot.

4.  Think of who you can invite to a meeting as a potential new member.

5.  If you have to leave early from the meeting, please apologize in advance to the speaker so that he/she does not think that you were walking out on him/her.

6.  Please sit closer to the front of the room than to the back.  And try to site with the new members whenever you can....get to know them....make them feel welcome.

7.  Whenever you host a student guest, as you are chatting with him/her over lunch, please tell them about our club.  Tell them what Rotary is all about.  Tell them what to expect during the meeting;  the opening, fun & frolic, boots & shoes, etc.   Tell him/her about local and international service projects that Rotary is involved with.   Make them feel welcome.
