Fun ‘N Frolic for the Foundation
Program
Keri Olson gave background information on the United Way of Whiteside County's Let's Feed Our Children program. She noted that summer is a critical time for children’s health and well-being. During the school year, many children receive free and reduced-price meals at school. However when school is out, these kids no longer have access to those meals and their families’ budgets are often stretched to the breaking point. United Way’s Let’s Feed Our Children program can help. The program provides free meals to all children, helping those who rely on school meals during the school year continue to receive healthy food during the summer. Everyone is welcome, always.
Keri asked for suggestions on a location where meals can be prepared this summer. After several clarifying questions, the Rev. Dr. Christina Berry suggested the First Presbyterian Church as a possibility. She and Keri will visit as a follow up. Rotarians applauded Keri for her leadership and Christina for offering help.
